Aarau is a city and so called “Einwohnergemeinde” in the Canton Aargau. Aarau is also the capital of the Aargau. It is located basically in the center of the triangle “Zürich, Luzern, and Basel”. For this reason, Aarau was even the capital of Switzerland for a few months in the year 1798. Aarau stretches over approximately 12 km**2 and has more than 20000 inhabitants.
